Job training as metalworker (all gender) in construction technology in 2024

We are searching for you!

  • You already spend your time pottering about?
  • You are interested in metal as a material?
  • You would like to build big things sometime?

We have been offering substantiated job trainings and an optimum career start to young people for many years. After successfully completing your job training, you have good opportunities to get a long-term employment with us. Some of our trainees have completed their training as the best examinees of their year.

In our company, you will learn everything you need in construction technology: From making measurements at the customer site and the manufacture of individual components in our workshop to the precise assembly of components. You will learn how to make freehand sketches and how to measure, mark and cut metal parts such as pipes, sheets or beams; how these parts must be formed, bent, pressed or straightened to fit precisely, and what you must observe when different metals such as steel, stainless steel or aluminium are processed. You will know how a construction site is prepared, which safety precautions and accident prevention activities must be taken, and how the components manufactured in our workshop are assembled at the customer site. While an engineer will elaborate the design of the product requested by the customer and a technical designer will prepare the associated drawing, you will be the one transforming the drawing into a product.

What are the requirements you should meet?

First of all, you should enjoy the idea of doing a skilled profession. You should be enthusiastic about building something. Your interest should be on metal as a material in this respect. If you also have a good spatial sense, if mathematics is one of your favourite subjects, and if you have no fear of heights on top of that, you meet all the requirements of a real Steel Buddy at Paul Schäfer Metallbau.
